Situated in the National College of Ireland (NCI), the Early Learning Initiative (ELI) is a non-profit, community-based educational initiative aimed at addressing educational disadvantage in marginalised communities through the provision of an integrated programme for children, their parents and families, and educators from early years up to third level. ELI is unique in that we aim to break the generational cycle of educational disadvantage so that children in our community will enter the educational system equipped with the literacy, numeracy, social and emotional skills appropriate for their age. Our vision is that we will lead the way in providing first class educational support programmes within local communities, thereby enabling children, young people and their families to develop the dispositions, skills and knowledge needed to achieve their educational, career and life goals.
