After winning a public competition in 2009, RUE has been assigned from the Region Friuli Venezia Giulia the realization of a project entitled La sfida dei giovani: verso la cittadinanza attiva nell'Italia e nell'Europa di oggi e di doman - The youth challenge: toward active citizenship in Italy and in Europe of today and tomorrow (for more information see www.sfidagiovani.it). The project is addressed to young people aged 14 to 29 of the Region and carries on 4 formative paths distributed over the period 2009-2012, which are: Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall; The Constitution: origins and future perspectives; 150 years of the Italian unitary State; Europe: not only economy. The aim is to foster young people's knowledge and understanding of contemporary history, both European and national, and to raise their awareness on rights, duties and opportunities that derive from being an European citizen.
