The Fondazione Gramsci Emilia-Romagna Onlus is an institute for the conservation and filing of national documentation concerning the labour movement, the socialist and the communist party. The Foundation promotes research, meetings and the exchange and dissemination of knowledge on several subjects related to contemporary history, history and sociology of labour, global issues such as multiculturalis, migrations, critical theory, postcolonial studies, and political theory. The purpose of the Foundation is to act as a place of research and free and open on contemporary issues involving civil society, cultural and political istitutions. In the promotion of research, conferences, seminars and publications, the Foundation has always collaboratd with other cultural and research centres, public administration, with the University of Bologna and other Italian and foreign universities.
