Kaleidos Red is a Spanish organization representing 10 local authorities in Spain: Alicante, Alcobendas, Bilbao, Burgos, Getafe, Logroño, Málaga, Sant Boi de Llobregat, Vitoria-Gasteiz and Zaragoza.From 2000, it is an network of towns open to all the Spanish municipalities interested in developing new civil participation methodologies and tools. Its aim is to enable local authorities to take better and more sustainable decisions where the interests and needs of citizens are actually taken into consideration. Kaleidos.red seeks to create a European network of towns to expand its activity, to share their knowledge and to experience with other European municipalities by broadening the civil participation debate at a European level.For Kaleidos.red each citizen is a sensor, an antenna, a city planner, an engine of change that will lead to create a more sustainable, cohesive and inclusive society. In the interaction between citizens and local administrations, citizens could be imbued by the European principles supporting the building of Europe from the local administrations in a bottom up approach.
