Genti de Mesu is a Sardinian non-profit association established by a group of Peace-Mediators/Peacekeepers who got together for the first time in 2008 in a vocational training course on the topic of Peacekeeping and Mediation . The name chosen for the association refers to a historical Sardinian figure called “Homine de Mesu”, an ancient mediator/moderator, whose job was to find a peaceful solution to the conflicts that took place in the villages. The spirit that keeps the members of the association together is the promotion of civil peace through the prevention and management of all kind of conflicts, international cooperation, local development and education of locals on human rights and fair trade. Our goal is to build a positive understanding of a conflict that should be seen as a positive and challenging opportunity for personal and common growth and an important tool in the improvement of relationships.We are based in Cagliari. www.gentidemesu.org
