The association "Terra di Mezzo" is an Italian non-profit organization that works to promote social and cultural development.The main aim of the association is the realization of projects for welfare, solidarity and social development of the people. Its actions and projects will promote the active citizenship of young people regardless of their social and economic status. A particular attention is oriented towards the promotion of their rights and duties in relation also to the realities of the peers in Europe, in particular, through the knowledge of good practices developed in various European countries in favour of young people. Our experience leads us to state that we can increase the participation of young people in the political, economic and social development of their communities. We believe to do it through the promotion of culture and art in every aspect, enhancing creativity and creative abilities, founding new spaces for expression, training, creation and enjoyment of culture.The association plays a role of facilitator for the organization of networks among young people and for the construction of utility projects. Its aims are the promotion and enhancement of creativity and creative attitudes, spaces for expression. Training will also allow to start the formation of groups for the protection of civil rights, the promotion of a culture of legality and education to civil liability and citizenship, with special reference to trade with other networks or in several European countries. An additional task of the organization is to promote, in different ways in which you will develop the project activities, the dissemination of experiences through the sites of the European Union, the spread of knowledge and culture to promote solidarity and tolerance among young people , with the particular objective of strengthening social cohesion in the European Union.The association regularly organizes infoday and meetings for the presentation of the opportunities offered by European calls for proposals for young people and schools (such as Erasmus +), the calls directed to the municipalities and associations (eg Europe for Citizens with town-twinning and networks between towns), with the opportunities offered by the programs of the European Voluntary Service by reporting for young people of the territory the possibilities of participation also on the basis of communications from the SALTO database. The association also informs the community about other European programs with particular attention to the impact on youth entrepreneurship in the car can also connect with local businesses.The association "Terra di Mezzo" in 2016 organized the network of associations (with a Memorandum of Understanding) has been entered into the participation of 25 non-profit associations that operate in the province of Catanzaro and supporting initiatives of "Terra di Mezzo".Also in 2016, the Association has established a direct relationship with municipalities of Sersale, Taverna and Vallefiorita and formalized by municipal resolution (and are being defined those with the municipalities of Amaroni, Squillace, Stalettì, Borgia) that will support the initiatives of Terra di Mezzo in particular as regards the European projects of youth volunteering.
