The distance to the county capital is 36 km and to the capital of Romania, Bucharest, 493 km. Area / Relief As the second big municipality of Botosani County, Dorohoi Municipality has an important role in the area, being a catalyst both for the neighboring towns and for the North-East area of the County, from a social and economic point of view and with regard to the labor force exchange and the population. The area is characterized by a hilly relief, crossed by a network of narrow V shaped valleys with smooth slopes, large valleys in a shape of plateau (the industrial area). The low hills are flattened, with separating versants, uneven slopes and frequent landslides in various forms and sizes, phenomena that brings the shape of an accidental micro-relief. Population The stable population of the municipality is 29.920 people (in 2010). Some of the most attractive are : the Museum of Natural Science, George Enescu Memorial Museum, the Municipal House of Culture, the Students and Children Club, St.Nicholas Royal Church, built by Stephen the Great in 1495, in Moldavian style, the "Wooden Church, the Town Cathedral.
