BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF TERAMO (with particular regard to Sport issues) The Municipality of Teramo is a public local Body, created on the basis of National Constitutional legal order. For this reason, it is endowed with a large number of competences regarding the regulation and the governance of the territory falling within its jurisdiction/control and citizenship. As regards to the skills and experiences in the concerned domains, it has a specific Sector within itself dealing with Sport matters, normally cooperating with the Welfare and Social Affairs Sector. Thanks to the presence, as employees, of personnel charged of the carrying out of activities in the field of sport and social inclusion and also through the support of external experts provided for specific activities presenting a more technical profile, the Municipality organizes periodically sporting initiatives, involving the local community, also and specifically in favour of handicapped and marginalized people, in order to favour the integration and the social cohesion of the citizens. Its operational capacity is guaranteed thanks to the presence of experienced personnel within the Municipality which has a specific Sector within itself dealing with Sport matters. Furthermore, this Sector normally cooperates with another one dealing with Welfare and Social Affairs. Furthermore, the Sport Sector, on behalf of the Municipality, organizes periodically sporting initiatives, involving the local community, also and specifically in favour of handicapped and marginalized people, in order to favour the integration and the social cohesion of the citizens. Within the above mentioned Sectors, the Municipality has, as employees, personnel charged of the carrying out of activities in the field of sport and social inclusion. For specific activities with a more technical profile, the Municipality makes use also of external experts who implement some aspects of the concerned initiatives.
